JG captain Lovely day Lost the toss Pitch looked good...but...could it really be? 3 x debutants = Dan Durack / Furqan / Fayaz
Godhi...bowled OK, but better when he bowled over wicket Andy Orme! A bad first over, but then he got better Riaz...bowled OK, but not at his usual best Dan Gush had a tough time behind the stumps - due to uneven bounce Then Ben Hartridge...boweld some brilliant right-hand off breaks, a lovely spell, 7 wickets! Nearly surpassed Grant’s 7-19 against the children and OAPs of Lustleigh! Wickets fell steadily We fielded OK Their opener batted patiently But Ben took key wickets...as they took chances against him - several were clean bowled slog-sweeping 125…not a great score, but the pitch was not good
Vinay provided a good tea + Fayaz provided a wildcard chicken biryani!
JG caught behind off one that popped off a length Schneider looked good, until given out to a legside catch that sadly he claimed he didn’t touch Vinay bowled by a dirty scuttler Gush played well for 20 Dan had a good ‘day-boo’ bat for Strongroom...his first for 25 years! Just as we were wobbling, Godhi stepped in and slammed a dominant 36*, and along with the capable Fayaz, safely navigated us home - on what was a poor quality pitch that deteriorated through the day, but this pair took their chances and batted positively 129-6...but this was actually quite a close-run-thing until this pair saw us through
An enjoyable game
The somewhat murky image below shows Mohmed Godhi steadfastly seeing us through in the final stages.
